BTG LXVIII – Addition
*LECTURE NUMBER ONE — THE VARIETY, ACCORDING TO LAW, OF THE MANIFESTATIONS OF HUMAN INDIVIDUALITY (Last read in New York in the Neighborhood Playhouse, January, 1924 )*
Addition (in BTG XLVIII)…
**1. Man as an Unconscious Slave**
- The ordinary person is a blind tool of universal cosmic purposes, serving Nature’s laws without awareness.
- Most live and die mechanically, never realizing their true potential.
- However, Nature allows the possibility for some to work not just for cosmic purposes but also for their own individuality—if they consciously strive for it.
**2. The Obstacles to Liberation**
- Heredity and upbringing often prevent true awakening.
- The main barrier is the residue of the Kundabuffer organ—an ancient psychic mechanism that distorts reality, making humans avoid true self-awareness (e.g., the inability to genuinely contemplate one’s own death).
- Because of this, people live in illusions, terrified of trivial things (like mice) but indifferent to real existential threats.
**3. The Two Streams of Life**
- Human existence is like a river dividing into two streams:
The Ocean-Bound Stream – For those who develop a real “I”, leading to higher evolution.
- The Nether Regions Stream – For mechanical people, who dissolve back into Nature without lasting essence.
- Most people passively drift into the second stream, never realizing they could cross over.
**4. The Path to Liberation ("First Liberation")**
- To move into the higher stream, one must:
Consciously crystallize a burning desire for true selfhood.
- “Die” to ordinary life—renouncing mechanical habits and illusions (as religious teachings suggest: *“Without death, no resurrection”*).
- Struggle against the Kundabuffer’s effects, which distort perception and keep people enslaved.
**5. The Tragedy of Modern Humanity**
- Due to wrong education and degenerate social conditions, people increasingly manifest “mass psychosis” (e.g., wars, revolutions, collective delusions).
- True conscience is lost, replaced by automatic reactions.
- Historically, this split into masters and slaves began with ancient civilizations (e.g., Tikliamishian, Babylonian) and persists today.
**6. The Solution: Conscious Self-Mastery**
- To escape this fate, one must become a true master—not in the worldly sense (wealth, power), but by developing objective reason and real will.
- Egoism first, altruism later: One must first perfect oneself before helping others.
- The Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man was founded to teach this path.
**7. Final Reflections**
- G concludes the first series of writings, having exposed the illusions of ordinary life.
- Future works (second and third series) will reveal deeper truths, including:
Hell and Paradise are on Earth, not in an afterlife.
- Practical methods for escaping mechanical existence.
- For now, he rests—enjoying rare Calvados, a symbolic reward for his labors.
- Mechanical Slavery – Most humans live unconsciously, driven by external forces.
- The Kundabuffer’s Shadow – A psychic distortion preventing true self-awareness.
- The Two Streams – One leads to evolution, the other to dissolution.
- Liberation Through “Death” – Not physical death, but the death of illusion.
- The Call to Awaken – Only conscious effort can break the cycle of mechanical life.
“You are asleep. Wake up. Work on yourself. Or remain forever a slave.”
